Glossary
- This information applies to all platforms.
Route Planning Basics #
Destination A location you need to visit, whether for deliveries, customer visits, or equipment servicing. Each destination requires an address and can be color-coded for easy identification.
Route An organized sequence of destinations to visit.
Optimal Route The most efficient path calculated by our algorithm to visit all destinations while minimizing travel time and distance.
Manual Ordering Custom control feature allowing you to personally arrange the sequence of destination visits.
Credits & Optimization #
Daily Optimization Credits Route optimization requires computational resources, so each plan includes a daily credit allowance. The Pro plan provides 2000 optimization credits per day. Each destination in a route uses one credit for optimization and one additional credit for turn-by-turn directions. Understanding optimization credits helps you maximize your route planning efficiency.
Route Directions and Navigation Turn-by-turn directions provide detailed driving instructions between stops on your optimized route. While direction calculation is optional and uses additional optimization credits, it enables precise navigation guidance. For users preferring external GPS apps, optimizing routes without directions preserves credits while maintaining efficient stop sequencing.
Data Management #
CSV File A universal data format compatible with Excel, Google Sheets, and other spreadsheet software. Perfect for importing/exporting destination lists. You can find the list of supported CSV columns in our documentaiton.
Barcode A machine-readable code containing delivery information:
- Basic barcodes: tracking numbers only
- Advanced barcodes: name, address, GPS coordinates
- Benefits: rapid data entry and reduced manual input
Route Planning Features #
Curbside Optimization Strategic route planning that considers which side of the street to approach from, minimizing unsafe road crossings.
Tracking Number A unique identifier assigned by courier services to track packages throughout the delivery system.
Destination Management #
Scheduled Destination A confirmed stop that has been successfully added to a route’s itinerary.
Unscheduled Destination A stop that cannot be included in the current route due to:
- Business hours conflicts
- Route capacity limitations
- Other scheduling constraints
